NPC Trains Accounting Officers Of The Centre In Partnership With The Office Of The Accountant General Of The Federation In International Public Sector Accounting Standards
July 20, 2023The training programme on “Productivity Improvement and Effective Service Delivery” was held at the conference room, National Productivity Centre Plot 2173 Cape Town Street, Wuse zone 4, Abuja from the 20th – 22nd June 2023. The training programme started with the introduction of the representative of the Director General and the Director/HOD PCB Dr. (Mrs.) Titilola Oshati at 10.30 am. The Representative of the Director General read the welcome address of the Director General and officially declared the training open. The Deputy Director PCB Mrs. Florence Charles-Musa read the vote of thanks on behalf of the Director/HOD; she appreciated and welcomed the participants from Federal Road Safety Commission and National Productivity Centre for coming to the Productivity House for the training. She wished them fruitful deliberations.

Training Objectives:
The broad objective of this training is to equip participants with the basic productivity and service delivery tools for improved organizational performance. The specific objectives are for the participants to be able to:
- Explain the concepts and importance of productivity.
- Explain the concept of effective and efficient service delivery;
- Acquaint participants with basic productivity improvement tools for effective service delivery.
- Acquaint participants with positive work ethics.
- Expose the participants to 5S and Kaizen techniques for productivity improvement.
Course Content
- An overview of productivity: Concepts and Application.
- Productivity Improvement Tools and Techniques; 5S, Kaizen and Quality Circle.
- Introduction to Effective Service Delivery
- Performance Measurement for productivity improvement
- Effective Time Management for improved service delivery
- Effective Leadership and Work Ethics for Organizational Performance.
- Building and Motivating High Performance Team.
- Effective communication for improved service delivery
Attendance:
The training programme had in attendance Eight (8) participants drawn from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and National Productivity Centre.
The resource persons presented the six (6) papers that make up the training content of the training programme and deployed several Productivity Improvements Tools and Techniques to aid participants in their bid to enhance productivity and performance.
The participants paid rapt attention to the presenters and interacted with the presenters while asking several questions after every presentation. Answers to the questions posed to the resource persons were answered satisfactorily. There was evaluation of the resource persons and the training programme by the participants.
Management of learning took place every morning to ascertain whether the participants understood and assimilated the presentations made during the training programme.
Vote of Thanks
DCC Okonkwo Livinus Chima a high ranking FRSC Official gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the participants from the Federal Road Safety Corps. He stated that he and his colleagues were highly impressed at the amount of knowledge they had acquired. He praised the presenters on the quality if their papers and presentations. He spoke about the need for more energizers during the trainings to encourage more interaction with participants and keep them alert and awake.
While giving her vote of thanks on behalf of the staff of NPC present, Mrs. Fischer commended the PCB department for a job well done. She continued by pleading that all staff of the centre should at one point of another attend the training because it was an eye-opening session for her and she learnt a lot. She on behalf of other participants finally stated that she was very grateful to the centre for organizing and sponsoring them.
