The Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Dr. Chris Ngige, Inaugurates NPC Governing Board

The Hon. Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has inaugurated the Governing Board of the National Productivity Centre with the following membership:
- Eyo Nsa Ekpo – Chairman
- Comrade Lateef Oyelekan – Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)
- Comrade Sunday Olusoji Salako – Trade Union Congress (TUC)
- Dauda H.M. – Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment
- Iyalode Alaba Lawson – National President, NACCIMA
- O.S. Odewale – Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Budget and Planning
- Godwin Akpokodje – Nigerian Institute for Socio Economic Research (NISER)
- Taiwo Adeniji – Nigeria Employers Consultative Assembly (NECA)
- Eyemumi Daniel Neburagho – Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment
- Ogbole A.O. – Centre for Management Development (CMD)
- Kashim Akor – Director –General, National Productivity Centre (NPC)
After welcoming the board members, the Minister stressed that the inauguration of the Governing Board underscored government’s commitment to an all inclusive governance as well as the provision of effective service delivery to Nigerians. In order to meet the foregoing objectives therefore, the Minister stated that the Board will be responsible for the following: Setting out the Parastatal’s economic, financial, operational and administrative policies, programmes and targets in line with the overall objectives as provided by the government; meeting targets, introducing broad policy measures for containing any adverse deviations and supervising management to ensure that targets are achieved. He reiterated that the role of the Board is to drive general policy formulation and implementation and not to be involved in the day to day running of the Agency.
Whilst pledging cooperation and support to ensure the achievement of their mandate, the Hon. Minister reminded the members of the zero level of tolerance for corruption by this administration, adding that it will be unacceptable for them to ask for fringe benefits that are outside their entitlements.
