January 25, 2024NPC IMO STATE OFFICE SIGNS MoU WITH UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES (UAES), IMO STATE
The National Productivity Centre, Imo State Office has signed an MoU with the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES) Umuagwo, Imo State.
The signing ceremony was held on Monday, 27th November, 2023 at the VC’s conference room. The NPC Imo State office was ably represented by Mr Ugonna Aguomba (ACPRO. PCB DEPT.), who signed on behalf of the state coordinator, Mrs Joyce Binitie, assisted by Mr Chijioke Egereugu while UAES was represented by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Christopher Eze, assisted by the Registrar of the University, Prince Edward Njemanze.
The MoU is a significant step towards effectively establishing the framework for collaboration and mutual cooperation between the two organizations.
In her speech at the occasion, read by Mr Aguomba Ugonna (ACPRO. PCB DEPT.), the Imo state coordinator was confident that the MoU/partnership would set the stage and bring about a significant step towards transforming the Centre’s strides in Imo state, and also have a positive impact, especially in the areas of manpower development and shared expertise. She also said that the collaboration would help to extend the Centre’s reach in the state as it was a good opportunity for spreading the Productivity message.
On his own part, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Christopher Eze, expressed optimism that the signing of the MoU would positively impact the Institution in the areas of research and community service.
He reiterated his position that the University is always open for business with the wider world as no institution could grow in isolation.
The Vice Chancellor of the University thanked the National Productivity Centre and the Imo State Office for their contributions towards achieving the partnership.
Four cardinal areas of collaboration that were indicated in the document of agreement bordered on research, human resources, educational programmes and facility utilization.
